The Czechoslovak Association for Crystal Growth (CSACG)

Expert Group of Crystal Chemistry and Physics

The Expert Group as the first organization of crystal growers in the former Czechoslovakia was established in 1970 with the field of action in the whole Czechoslovakia. At the end of 1971, the Group had almost 90 members reaching maximum of about 145 persons in 1975. At that time the activity of the group was really rich as well as interest of the members. Regular lectures were given every two months and several-day seminars on crystal growth and their characterization were held in 1972, 1975, 1978, 1981, 1985, and 1989.

Between 1971 and 1989 the Information Bulletins were also published giving the list of papers and various contributions on crystals published during previous year, topical information about the group activity and members.

The most important undertaking organized by this Group was the European Meeting on Crystal Growth - Materials for Electronics - held from August 23 to 28, 1982. The Meeting was attended by 245 scientists (84 from the host country). The program consisted of 14 plenary lectures, 35 contributed papers and 150 posters.
